7 Lessons From Artists
Here’s some snippets:
“Professional artists know that flow cannot be counted on, so they learn to create without it—putting their work together every single day, whether or not they’re “in the mood”.”
“Sometimes I’ll try a piece for three months and get rid of it. Then I’ll go back to it again and leave it several more times, because I have to fail a lot to find out all about what the piece wants and really needs. Once it clicks and I start succeeding, you can’t stop me.”
Or, as Miles Davis said, “Do not fear mistakes; there are none.”
Final day on Blog & Buy yesterday,
huge thanks to everyone that supported it and a massive thank you to James & Josephine for including me in the line up and for selecting me to feature in this month’s Digital Artist Magazine (I’ll throw some pictures up when I get a copy).
the response to The How To Project has been overwhelming and I’m so grateful to everyone who bought, blogged, tweeted, Facebooked, emailed me or just took the time to look around. The amount of opportunities that have risen from this little side project has been wicked and I’ve managed to make some brilliant friends and cross a few things of my Bucket List (featuring in Magazines, being included in art shows).
I know sometimes things on the website are a bit slow but I’m pretty much working this myself and what with other important projects on the go (www.theknockoneffect.co.uk coming soon!) as well as working on my own illustrative style and worming my way in to the industry, it can get pretty hectic.
But again this post is a massive thank you to those who have taken in interest in The How To Project and continue to do so.
